About the Lung Cancer Knowledge Portal
The Lung Cancer Knowledge Portal is an open, inclusive resource that brings together the evidence on what drives lung cancer risk. We start from genetic and proteomic risk factors, catalogued across diverse populations, and are building outward to epigenomic annotation, multi-omic data and, ultimately, radiology imaging, so researchers can move from a variant to its biological and clinical context in one place.
Available now
GWAS Catalog associations
Published genome-wide significant associations from the GWAS Catalog, for lung cancer and every other trait, searchable by variant, gene, or genomic region.
Diseases & subtypes
A navigable lung cancer ontology, from NSCLC and SCLC down to histological subtypes, with the supporting evidence for each.
Tumour somatic alterations
Mutations, copy-number changes and fusions from twelve lung cancer sequencing studies, including TCGA, in GRCh38 or GRCh37 coordinates, each with a study summary.
Survival GWAS
Genome-wide association with survival after diagnosis in the Boston Lung Cancer Survival Cohort (BLCS), GWAS and OncoArray arms, with Miami, regional and QQ plots and a two-cohort meta-analysis.
Genes & variants
A dedicated page for every gene and variant, gathering the associations and annotations that implicate it.
In development
Proteomic risk factors
Circulating protein risk factors for lung cancer, catalogued alongside the genetic findings and compared across ancestries.
Epigenomic annotation
Processed epigenomic annotations for lung tissue and tumours, following the model of the Lipids Knowledge Portal.
Longer term
Multi-omic datasets
Transcriptomic, epigenomic and other molecular datasets for lung cancer, integrated with the genetic and proteomic findings.
Radiology imaging
Radiology imaging linked to molecular data, so risk factors can be studied alongside how the disease presents clinically.
